Mississippi River Valley Art Drive
The Mississippi River Valley Art Drive (MRVAD) is a self-guided art drive that directs you to the private studios, homes and galleries where the artists create their works of art. You may be stopping at an artist home studio in one location and then off to an "Art Garage" filled with many talented area artists. Plan a trip May 2-3 for a fun filled weekend of color and conversation. Watch as the artist creates a new work of art right in front of your eyes. This is your time to ask questions about the art you see being created. It may be a painting, a pot out of clay, a scones out of stone, wind chimes, photography, stained glass, blown glass, mosaic bird baths, upscale art, mixed media, gourd art, handmade paper baskets or jewelry just to name a few.
The art drive will take you from the Dubuque, IA/Galena, IL area down the river valley to West Burlington, IA with 28 stops in-between. Watch for the blue art drive signs. Visit www.mrvad.com to find out more about the artists and print maps to create your perfect weekend of art.Images
