MLK Celebration
The Clinton Community MLK Celebration Planning Committee is excited to welcome Lifetime Peace Educator and Activist, Victoria Christgau as the keynote speaker at this year's MLK Celebration event! Ms. Christgau is the founder and current Executive Director of the Connecticut Center for Nonviolence and is a certified Kingian Nonviolence Trainer who has been a Master Teaching Artist for over 27 years. Accompanied by local CCC student Alexis Boeh-Petersen, Ms. Christgau will offer a reflective look into Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.'s nonviolence philosophy and methodology, examining how it propelled the American Civil Rights Movement of the 1960s. Through exploration of the songs that fueled the fearless movement workers, Ms. Christgau will encourage the audience to step back in time and remember the future. Join us for a pre-program "Meet and Greet" at 12:00pm. Enjoy a complimentary cup of soup while visiting with Ms. Christgua. The event will also be followed by a re-enactment of a civil rights march and post-march refreshments at Clinton Community College.MLK CelebrationDate and Time
