Tony Seabolt Art Exhibit
The River Arts Center in Clinton, Iowa, is pleased to display the work of artist Tony Seabolt of Rock Island. This exhibit will be shown through Sunday, November 2,with a reception for the artist on Friday, September 26, from 6:30-8:30 PM. There will be an artist's talk at 7PM and the public is welcome to attend. The art center is located at 229-5th Ave. So. and is open Wednesdays through Sundays from 1-4 PM.
Seabolt, a Quad-City native, is showing primarily his abstract work, which he describes as a mixture of surrealism, cubism, and Gestalt psychology in that they have elements that draw the viewer in and allow them to see things that their own imagination creates. He also does realism, portraits, landscapes, and automobile-themed works.
His experience comes from twenty-five years or more of experimenting and working under other artists and studies at Blackhawk College . He has acquired a vast knowledge of art through self-study, but was given the knowledge of methods and mediums through various mentors. In the end he has created his own visual language and style.
In recent years he has shown his works at Gallery West, Stardog Gallery, Galleria at Bucktown, Sol-Iron Gallery, The Artery, Gallery 114 and has participated in many MidCoast Arts events such as Gallery Hop. He has donated works to local charities and his works are included in many private collections, both nationally and internationally.
